Hi, it’s Nick with Sell My San Antonio House. And we get asked this question a lot when we’re buying properties from people who live in the property they’re wanting to sell.
Yes, we buy a lot of properties that are inherited properties or old rental properties, old vacant, beat-up houses, but we also buy a lot from people that are currently living in them and are worried that they’re going to have to be out before we can buy their property. It’s not always going to be the case. You do have another option. And what we’ll do for those folks is we’ll offer what’s called a leaseback or a temporary residential lease when we buy the property.
So, how does that go? We’ll go ahead and close on the property. We will both sign and we will pay for the property. We are the owners, but at the same time, we give those folks a temporary lease. This allows the sellers to stay in the property for a set amount of time after selling the house.
So say, they said, “Hey, we do want to sell the house. But after that, we’re going to need two more weeks to move into our next place where we really want to be at.”
No problem. A way for us to set them up is to give them that temporary lease or leaseback. And that helps them, helps us, so we create a win-win situation.
Not everybody is willing to offer a temporary lease, so you’re going to want to ask the person that’s buying your property, but it is an option. So if you’re looking to sell a property you’re currently living in, but you’re worried about having to move before closing on the property, there is another option. Just find the right buyer and you should be good to go. I hope this helps. If we can do anything for you, please give us a call, (210) 201-6644, or at the website, sellmysanantoniohouse.com.
